glock 19 failure to feed

Glock 19 Failure To Feed - Health I bought a new G19 gen 4 a few months ago. And decided to shoot tonight.

The first round was not fed. The bullet stuck halfway down the chamber barrel on the feed ramp.

I entered, hit the slide and let spit the rest of the rounds, failed another feed as it was racking the middle of the mag.

Glock 19 Gen 3 Erratic Ejection, A/k/a Brass To Face. *fixed 5/20/2014

Is this a common problem? I've heard something about the gen 4 having problems, but I wonder if they all have them working properly?

It seems to only be done in a magazine. I think this is a review issue? there is hope I will charge them and revive them.

After shooting no. I meant failure to feed after the first time. Basically I shot it and the second time it didn't go off at all.

I had a hard time doing it again. I have to load again and rack again.

Failure To Feed With 4.5\

And maybe it's the mag. One did it again and the other didn't. I marked that mag with an x.

Does this sound like a mag issue? Maybe because it was new? When I get a chance I'll shoot some more and leave an update. I missed the shot now because everyone around here was either shooting guns in the air or shooting off fireworks. I have to go to the gun range to shoot again and they don't open until Monday.

Btw, idk if the ammo has anything to do with it. I use standard federal ball ammo. I heard Federale must be a decent brand.

Glock 19 Failure To Feed

I rented a G19-3 on Wednesday and fired 50 rds with the range remans and it ran like a charm. Rented again today and had 6 F/T/Extract. Same gun and mag. Just a different box of ammo. So I shot 72 rds through my G36 and had 5 F/T/Ejects and 4 F/T/feeds. No answer unless you don't feel like working on vacation. Today I used the Winchester 230g white box. FMJ the G36 doesn't seem to digest well, has been a problem with that ammo in the past. After shooting on Wednesday. Tried the new lubricant as an experiment and after cleaning today I went back to the CLP which I loaded with PMC with spare mags. Never used that before. The gun looks like Amscore and Blazer aluminum. The range does not allow steel cased ammo, but I know the gun works well with silver beer. My carry ammo, Federal 230gr, has no problems. Hydro-Shock JHP J.

Glock 34 Ftf In First Round?

The magazine, IMO, is the lifeblood of any semi-automatic firearm. It is also, IMO, the most expendable/replaceable part of the gun. Without a working magazine you only have one gun. If you're looking with just one magazine, it could be that magazine. Get a new review or bookmark your review and track failures. Now we accuse, respectively, 1) riding slide home, 2) defective magazine, 3) defective ammunition.

OMG that can't be real Glocks are the standard that all other guns must be compared to after all Glocks are pure perfection. Seriously if the only thing that happens with a magazine is the magazine, most failures in a semi-auto are caused by a faulty magazine.

The only time I had a problem was with my glock 23 and I found it was due to a non factory magazine (which I threw away and had no other problems). This could be a mag issue. I have 3 other glocks (good 2, and my wife has another 26) I have a gen 4 19 and my 26 is a gen 3, but my wife is a gen 4. We have had zero problems.

I've heard of some problems with good 115 grain ammo but I've shot this a ton with normal problems. So what I'm hearing is anecdotal evidence, but it makes me wonder if that's what's going to shoot you.

Calling All Glock Experts

I have also heard that limp wrists can cause problems with some locks (and most semi autos), though again, neither my wife nor I have had any problems with this.

Good luck figuring it out. Consider having an experienced instructor supervise your shoot to see if they can see if you're in a pinch.

Buying good 124gr fmj ammo to start with is always better than 115gr. Once you know all is well in Glock land, you can try the junk brands. It's a glock, but run it wet first. Keep it tight and close your wrists. My wife can shoot my kahrs but a watch or a 1911 on a lame wrist. Pay attention. Then have a friend who is a little more experienced test your gun. See if your problems appear with another experienced shooter.

Limp the G19 every time for FTF. A new recovery spring should have a nice solid platform to return it to. Everything I put in it eats my lot. I don't like underpowered reloads.

Erratic Ejection Troubleshooting Tips

Go back to the range and run some more. If you can, watch an instructor or range officer shoot you as told. Your grip may be a problem. The thumb saw rides on the slide and prevents it from traveling all the way back.

The Glock is a very reliable gun and it can be a simple problem of where your fingers are. Only racking slides will not give you good information. You have to survive the fire to find out.

Q... Is the Glock made FTF or FTE from the USA? (Glock USA printed on a slide) or Glock made in Austria? The reason I ask is because we are seeing a large number of Glocks coming up for trade or direct sale in stores. The Austrians are always running like a Swiss watch.

I bought a used 17 a few years ago and immediately experienced several malfunctions. I put the same mag in my proven 19 edc and had the same malfunction. I fired that particular magazine, and thousands of rounds later had no more problems.

Glock 42 Problems

I got one for my dad for Christmas, never had that problem, bought factory magazines or spares separately. If you can't reproduce with "good" magazines, call the mag and/or Glock problem on it.

Forget this stuff about "quality ammo, not junk". Many here consider the WOLF or TULA "junk ammo", because of its steel case, cheap, Russian, etc. I'm not one of those people, btw.

Glocks, in general, handle everything. And when training, or practicing, we should shoot the cheapest FMJ we can find. Federal brand, what a great name. Its good ammunition. You should not have problems with this, although sometimes all companies put out a bad batch. But, in my opinion, based on what you described, it is not the problem of ammunition.

Surprisingly, the ammo I've had the worst luck with is the Win White Box. I don't use it on my Glocks, but on my SIG, and STEYR, it was bad enough for me to stop buying it.

Maintaining Your Glock

But using Federal brand brass in the new Glock 19 should have zero malfunctions. I wonder if it's a mag, or a grip problem, just based on what you said.

If you narrow it down to one magazine that does it and the other two work fine then it's the magazine. I got the G19 gen4 and it's great. I think the magazine is the culprit here. A good analysis to check all the variables.

Take that mag aside and check everything carefully. Make sure there is nothing hanging on the follower, etc.

The mag seems to be the culprit behind the possible slide ride. #2 Daughter has done this several times with her XDS. I have found that the XDS and Glock do not like limp writing and the two ills mentioned above are easy cures. Mag, well, send it back to Glock and they'll do it right.

Glock 23: Why It Should Be Your New Carry Gun

I have found with my locks that the more you shoot, the better. One of the reasons they always carry extra magazines. If you fail in the field, changing stores will return to combat.
